This year marked our 10th annual Biggest Morning Tea in support of Cancer Council, a tradition that has quietly become one of the most looked-forward-to mornings on the Krost calendar. Across our Sydney and Melbourne showrooms, our teams stepped away from the usual routine for a cause that continues to matter deeply to all of us.
Each site carved out its own morning through May and June. Tables filled up with an impressive spread of homemade bakes - cookies, fresh tarts, along with pastries and our all-time favourite bagels. The atmosphere across the showrooms was relaxed and conversational, giving everyone room to connect over a brew.
To keep the energy high and the competition honest, we introduced "The Morning Tea Boggle". Teams had exactly two minutes to construct as many smaller words as possible using only the letters from "BIGGEST MORNING TEA", the competitive spirit was sharp but friendly.
Every dollar raised goes directly to Cancer Council's research, prevention, and support initiatives. A genuine thank you to our team leaders for coordinating each morning, and to everyone who contributed a plate or a donation.
Most Australian workplaces, ours included, carry the personal realities of cancer, whether through a parent, a sibling, a colleague, or a partner. The Biggest Morning Tea is a rare moment in the busy working year where those shared stories have room to be told. It is a timely reminder that a workplace, at its baseline performance, is about more than just getting things done. At its best, it is a place where the people who work together look out for one another.
