The leg is where a workstation earns its longevity. Bolted frame joins gradually loosen under movement, and multi-part leg assemblies telegraph their fixings over time. A single, fully welded steel profile does neither. Keywork was engineered around this foundational premise.

The Leg, First

The structural core of Keywork is a fully welded tubular steel frame, powder-coated in matte black or crisp white. Defined by bold lines, oblique angles at the foot, and an absence of visible fixings along the leg, the geometry sits cleanly between architectural precision and industrial refinement.

When specified across open spaces, this geometry creates visual rhythm. Rather than disappearing into the background, a bank of ten legs establishes structure without cluttering the floor plane.

Two quiet design details resolve key spatial and practical challenges:

• Concealed Levelling: An internal leveller sits flush within the foot, ensuring clean contact and alignment across uneven concrete slabs or historic timber refurbishments.
• The Continuous Spine: By eliminating standard central legs, structural support and cable management are relocated to an inset central blade. This unblocks the under-desk zone, maximising legroom and allowing chairs, mobile pedestals, and users to move freely.

Integrated Power and Reconfiguration

The inset power blade changes how workstations behave within a commercial fit-out. Runs of two, four, six, or eight desks share a single, continuous channel for power and data. Cables remain fully enclosed within the frame, nothing is drilled through worktops or suspended off edges. When teams scale or space requirements shift, reconfiguring a Keywork bank requires no recabling from scratch, delivering a practical operational advantage for facilities management.

Visual Continuity Across the Entire Family

Keywork functions as an adaptable system rather than a standalone desk. Its signature oblique leg geometry carries seamlessly across open-plan workstation pods, central storage spine units, executive private office desks, boardroom tables, and drafting-height counter tables. This allows interior designers and workplace strategists to maintain visual continuity as a project transitions from high-density operational zones to private offices and collaborative breakout hubs.

Local Manufacturing & Circularity

Keywork is welded, powder-coated, and assembled at Krost’s facility in New South Wales. Holding AFRDI Blue Tick and Green Tick certifications alongside a 10-year warranty, it provides the regulatory rigor required for public sector, education, and Green Star projects.

Because steel outlasts traditional wear elements like worktops, screens, and castors, Keywork is fully integrated into Krost’s take-back and refurbishment program. Decommissioned frames can be recovered, stripped, re-powder-coated in current finishes, and returned to active stock, reclaiming almost 100% of the frame material for a genuine second life.
